Roberto Rosa, a graduate of the Hotel School in Riccione Italy, is a passionate, innovative and seasoned international hotelier who grew up in his family’s hospitality environment. Roberto’s last role was General Manager of the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton, Legacy Hotels and Resorts’ group flagship property, part of the Leading Hotels of the World.
Roberto holds more than three decades of expertise with extensive five-star hotel and hospitality experience in South Africa and was a Restaurateur Franchisor, where he grew his business over 15 years. He has overseen numerous new hotel openings and rollouts of various renovation programmes. Through his years of hotel service, Roberto has gained proven leadership in hospitality operations, staff development and guest satisfaction.
Roberto has two sons, both working in IT companies - Enrico is based in Amsterdam, Holland, and Paolo in Raleigh, NC, USA. Roberto and his wife Nicole are health enthusiasts who love the outdoors and travel, always looking for a new destination where they are gaining insight into exceptional hospitality service from all over the world.

What are you most excited about in your new role at The Oyster Box?
To work at this inspirational hotel which has such personal history with Mr & Mrs Tollman, our Founder and President.
What were your first impressions of The Oyster Box?
A luxurious, peaceful oasis overlooking the ocean with many unique offerings, and courteous and friendly staff.
How would you describe The Oyster Box in one sentence?

What are the three best attributes of the team at The Oyster Box?
Genuine care; passion and pride towards all guests; a professional and classic way of working.
What have you learnt in previous roles that you will apply to your role as General Manager of The Oyster Box?
Communication is key. I will lead our team by walking around and meeting people every day, constantly improving our standards, balancing standards and profitability, and building on relationships with guests, team members, our shareholders and the local community.
